Hello brilliant bosslady!
Today I want to talk to you about 2017, and what this beautiful new year is going to bring for you and your business. It’s time to set some new year’s resolutions, and I want to share my top three goals with you.
I don’t know about you, but 2016 has been a crazy whirlwind for me. Between building my creative business online, raising my daughters and planning the Together experience, I’m surprised that I’m not bleeding coffee by this point.
If I had one word to describe what 2016 has all been about for me, what my driving force has become and what has motivated the Together Experience, it’s community.
When I first posted on this blog, I opened up about my experience searching for a community throughout my life. As a business owner working from home, that need for community has only intensified. My female friends and fellow bossladies are more than the support I need when things get tough. They have been the key to staying motivated, inspired and successful.
I’m excited to double down on that focus in 2017. I’m excited to challenge myself and the women around my to achieve and experience even more this year. With that goal in mind, I’ve set myself 3 essential new year’s resolutions that I want to share with you.
1. Stop Letting Fear Hold You Back
In case you haven’t read enough think pieces about “impostor syndrome” yet, guess what? We’ve all got it. Everyone has days where they feel like they’re a fraud, or start to doubt their creativity, intelligence, drive or ability.
The truth is, your perfect vision for your business is probably not going to be the reality, especially when you’re just getting started. Building a business isn’t pretty- some days it’s really not pretty. That’s normal. It’s okay. It’s all part of owning your business.
You can either keep fantasizing about the perfect business, or you can let your dream out into the world and make it your reality. So many people let their incredible ideas stay locked inside their heads, too afraid to take the leap and make it happen. Don’t let that be you!
2. Find Your #Bosslady Besties
On those days when I feel like I can’t possibly achieve my goals, finish my to-do list, or get out of my pj’s, my support network is a lifesaver. I’m so grateful for all of the connections that I’ve made this year with incredible women and men running their businesses online, and I hope to get to know so many more in 2017.
Not everyone is going to understand the unique stress that comes with turning your passion into an online business. Not everyone is going to be supportive. Luckily for you, there is a community that you belong with. All you need to do is join!
This year, take advantage of networking opportunities with women who work in your industry. Challenge yourself to reach out to the people who inspire you, to join Facebook groups and online communities and to make connections with the people who really get it.
3. Invest in Yourself, Invest in Your Business
You, your beautiful work and your drive to create and contribute, are worthwhile. It’s so very important that you give yourself permission to invest the time, energy and money in yourself and your success.
Too often we pass up on opportunities because we think we don’t deserve them. We decide not to take the risk because it’s safer to keep to the status quo, or to help someone else achieve their dreams.
Investing in your business isn’t just about money. It’s about taking yourself seriously. It’s about committing to your plan and your success. This year, make yourself and your work the priority.
If you’re ready to jumpstart your success and become a part of an incredible community of hard-working #bossladies, I hope you’ll join us at the first Together experience this February 22-24! This 3-day conference will bring together creative female entrepreneurs across industries to connect, collaborate and learn new skills, systems and secrets to success!
